Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Low-Voltage Security Integrator to lead the installation, service, and maintenance of complex, integrated security systems. The ideal candidate will have over five years of hands-on experience with security cameras, network video recorders (NVRs), servers, intrusion alarms, and access control systems.

This senior role is crucial to our operations, requiring not only advanced technical proficiency but also the ability to diagnose the most challenging issues and provide mentorship to fellow technicians. The successful candidate will be a master of their craft, an excellent time manager, and possess the commercial awareness to identify and propose new products or system upgrades to meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Installation & System Commissioning:

  • Lead the installation, configuration, and programming of a wide range of security solutions, including IP-based surveillance systems, access control panels, electrified door hardware, alarm systems, and associated server/storage hardware.
  • Ensure all installations are completed to the highest standards, adhering to all relevant codes, specifications, and best practices.
  • Perform final system commissioning, ensuring full functionality and providing comprehensive client hand-offs and training.
  • Maintain and manage system-specific software and firmware, performing updates and patches as required.

Diagnostics & Advanced Troubleshooting:

  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues that junior technicians are unable to resolve.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to efficiently identify and rectify system failures across hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and solutions to build a shared knowledge base for the technical team.

Mentorship & Team Support:

  • Provide on-the-job training, guidance, and technical support to other integrators and technicians.
  • Foster a collaborative environment by sharing expertise and promoting best practices in installation and service.
  • Assist in the technical development of team members to enhance the overall skill level of the department.

Client Relations & Consultative Sales:

  • Serve as a primary technical contact for clients, building strong relationships based on trust and expertise.
  • Proactively assess clients' existing systems and infrastructure during service calls and site visits.
  • Identify opportunities for system upgrades, expansions, or new technology implementations that would benefit the client.
  • Clearly articulate the value and benefits of proposed solutions, generate quotes for new products or services, and assist the sales team in closing opportunities.

Time & Project Management:

  • Independently manage your daily and weekly schedule to ensure timely completion of all assigned projects and service tickets.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including detailed service reports, installation notes, and as-built drawings.
  • Manage on-site inventory of parts and equipment, ensuring you are prepared for scheduled jobs.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience as a low-voltage integrator, with a focus on commercial security systems.
  • Expert-level proficiency in installing and servicing:
    • IP Security Camera Systems (e.g., Milestone, Genetec, Avigilon, Hanwha)
    • Access Control Systems (e.g., Lenel, S2, Genetec, Brivo, Pro-Watch)
    • Intrusion Alarm Systems (e.g., Bosch, DMP, Honeywell)
    • Associated servers, NVRs, and network infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of network principles (IP addressing, subnets, VLANs, PoE).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and train other technical staff.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric attitude.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Preferred:

  • Manufacturer-specific certifications for major access control, VMS, or alarm systems.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Security+.
  • Experience with system design and drawing review.
  • Any relevant state-specific licensing for security or alarm installation.
