About the role
We're looking for a finance and accounting professional who wants to grow with the business. You'll keep our books current, record customer payments, and help improve how our accounting runs in Odoo. You'll also take on a variety of projects alongside our finance lead. You'll work across two divisions, Jet Stream (security systems) and Big View (mobile surveillance trailers), so accurate coding matters.
What you'll do
- Each week, enter and categorize bank and corporate card transactions (Ramp, AMEX, operating accounts) to the correct GL account and division
- Reconcile bank and card statements in Odoo
- Record customer checks and apply payments to open invoices
- Enter vendor bills
- Follow up with employees on missing receipts and purchase explanations
- Follow up on routine past-due customer balances
- Track customer tax exemption certificates
- Flag large, unusual, or ambiguous charges for review
- Keep our vendor coding rules current
- Help identify and fix issues in our automated accounting workflows in Odoo
Projects
- Pull and organize data for financial analysis and models
- Support a chart of accounts consolidation
- Research, cleanup, and process documentation projects as they come up
Where the role grows
As the business grows, you'll take on more month-end close support and give input on forecasts and process improvements.
What we're looking for
- 1 to 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, or accounting or finance coursework or a degree in progress
- Experience with AR, cash application, or payment matching
- Comfort learning an ERP system and troubleshooting how it records transactions (Odoo experience not required)
- Strong Excel skills
- Attention to detail, and the judgment to ask when something looks off
- Discretion with confidential financial information
- Eagerness to learn and take on new responsibilities
Nice to have
- Experience with Ramp, Expensify, or similar card platforms
- Familiarity with multi-division or job costing
