2. Vacation & Sick Leave Policy

Vacation Accrual & Tenure

  • 6-Month Milestone: Upon completing six (6) months of continuous employment, employees are granted ten (10) days of paid vacation.  This will reset each work anniversary.
  • Separation of Hours: Paid Company Holidays (listed in Section 1) are provided in addition to your vacation allotment and do not reduce your available vacation balance.

Sick & Personal Wellness Leave

  • Annual Allotment: The Company provides two (2) dedicated Paid Sick Days.
  • Integration with Vacation Leave: Once the two (2) dedicated sick days are exhausted, any further illness-related absences will automatically be applied against the employee’s available Vacation balance to ensure continued income.
  • Unpaid Medical Leave: Once both Sick and Vacation balances have been fully exhausted, any subsequent absences due to illness will be categorized as unpaid leave.
  • Medical Certification: If an employee exceeds four (4) cumulative sick days in a single calendar year, a physician’s "Fit for Duty" note will be required to authorize the employee's return to work.

Gusto & Scheduling

All time off must be entered into Gusto for tracking and approval.

  • Standard Requests: Vacation must be scheduled 3 weeks in advance if the absence exceeds 3 consecutive days (including weekends).
  • Short-Term Requests: 3-day weekends do not require the 3-week notice but must be approved by a direct manager.

3. Additional Leave Policies

Floating Holiday

Employees receive one (1) Floating Holiday per year for personal, religious, or cultural significance. This day must be used by December 31st (no roll-over) and requires a two-week notice in Gusto.

Bereavement Leave

  • Immediate Family (3 Days Paid): Spouse, domestic partner, child, parent, sibling, or legal guardian.
  • Extended Family (1 Day Paid): Grandparent, grandchild, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, or in-law.

4. General Provisions

  • Eligibility: These benefits apply to all full-time employees.
  • Holiday Pay: Observed holidays are paid at the standard base rate.
  • Holiday Overlap: If an observed holiday falls during an employee's scheduled vacation, that day will be paid as a Holiday and will not be deducted from the employee's vacation bank.
